AMAZINGGGGGGG!!!!
ABSOLUTELY LOVED LOVED LOVED IT.
I am so blessed to be able to catch it this time round! And musicals always make me regret never leaning ballet. My daughters will be forced to go for ballet. Haha! Anyways I forgot I have work due tomorrow morning so late night tonight. But oh well, FAME was definitely way worth it!

2009. Without me.
Colour-coordinate without me too. Hmph.
CNY in Bristol

Zen Restaurant. All Chinese societies (HK, Malaysian, Singaporean etc) joint CNY dinner.

"Sushiiiiii! Omg, feels like home!" Wednesday night - after handing in assignment, initial plan was DIY steamboat at someone's place. Didn't work out. So buffet at Cosmo.

1.My CNY goodies! 2.Emily and Anna 3.I got the same fortune as Rob -_- 4.Some vegetably soup 5.Lion Dance by Uni students 6.Black bean stir-fry pork that tastes NOTHING like black bean sauce 7.Orange Sorbet - This was the most UN-chinese chinese meal I've ever had. Lol. 8.Prawn crackers and Tom 9.Hall friends at formal
So another celebration come and gone. It’s non-existant here. Seriously. No festivity, no fireworks, no holiday. Oh well.
And the more I talk to people from home, the more I miss them. Maybe I should stop keeping in touch. LOL.
But I’m happy – February is HERE.
Can finally relax. I’m so free till I have time to paint my nails this afternoon. Lol. Till my photo post! Picking the photos now and I’m really enjoying it – literally LOL at some photos, crying at forgotten memories and cringing at some I want to forget. Lol. But it’s amazing; it’s like revisiting your life 4 years ago and replaying it in your head.
xxx
I don’t. Then again does anyone truly anyway?
And what if sometimes the things you want is not what God wants for you? Do you rebel? Or do you submit?

Back in Brizzle. Yes as you might have been aware from my last post, I was home for Christmas. It was really the reason why I was so excited about the holidays. And it was the best Christmas ever. I watched more movies in that span of three weeks than I did during my time in Bristol. Actually I didn’t watch any while I was here the past 2 months. Lol. But yes watched The Day The Earth Stood Still, Bolt, Australia and Twilight. The first on the list was the worst. Ever. And the best was not Twilight but Bolt! I LOVED IT. I’m going to buy the CD and watch it again.
(I don’t understand what every girl sees in a pale looking vampire. I think the guy who played Jacob was cuter.)
Christmas Day itself was awesome. I did nothing. Which I don’t really get to do here. Presents, Dim Sum <3 (it’s waaaaay too expensive here so I ate A LOT when I was back home), watched Kungfu Panda CD Jayson got Christmas(oh another movie I forgot to mention which I loved too!), played with the presents I got my brothers – Drinking Glasses and Magic Snow (pictures at the end of the post), ate turkey, wine, talking, spending the day with my brothers… <3 yeah you get the idea. I loved my Christmas.
New Year’s Eve Celebration was at the Curve and Sepang. Countdown at Curve. Nothing much except getting sprayed with the white foamy stuff like crazy then stayed the night at Tze Hong’s holiday home in Sepang where they made Chun Chang very very drunk. Evil people. I slept 2 hours that night. Actually less than that. But it was insanely fun. Watching them get Chun Chang drunk, seeing Michelle drive, looking for mamak at 4 am, singing Disney songs on top of my voice with Michelle (I realised then I’m such a Disney geek; I know almost all the lyrics to the Disney songs. -_- ) at 7 am mind you, spending the night with cockroaches… what an experience. Lol.
Yeah overall my holidays were extremely good. Worth the altogether more than 24 hours of travel. 12 hours home and at least 17 hours or more back to Brizzle. Had to transit at Amsterdam, nearly missed that flight, reaching London waited for my luggage for an hour and worrying that it might have gotten lost, dragging the super heavy luggage everywhere, had to take a train to the coach station, waited more than an hour for the coach to Bristol, two hours coach ride to Bristol and finally taxi back to hall. I left KL at about 4pm London time and arrived back to my room at 2pm. Wahhh nearly 24 hours.
But you know what? It was worth it. All the travelling, waiting, packing, unpacking(which I’m still not done with) – so worth every bit. I had the best holiday. Every single moment was worth it. Even including the “send-off present” I got from Malaysia the day before I left. So yeah… 6 months to summer. I keep telling myself it will fly past and I know it will. It just doesn’t seem so right now. Sigh. Michelle, you better have all the fun for me and eat extra Malaysian food on my behalf! And update FB! So I know what’s up. Haha.
And the snow did greet me after all. I’ve always loved the 2 hour bus ride from Bristol to London or vice versa. Cos it’s an amazing countryside view. And this time, it was covered in snow. Well not completely but yeah I got to see it at least.
So yes I came back to a very cold and depressing empty room. All my photos and posters have dropped off and it’s such a mess. I have so much unpacking to do. I think I brought back too much food. But at least I got some CNY cookies! I love my mum. Gosh, I miss her already. It would have been much easier coming back here if I didn’t speak to her on Skype straight away after I arrived.
I’m going to collect my last ever Christmas present for 2008 tomorrow. I have no idea what is it but I know I’m going to love it. Cos it was the thought behind it that counted. It was sent to Bristol the day I arrived home. And for that reason I’m sorry I didn’t tell you I was coming back and you had to pay postage and everything. But hey, gives much meaning to the phrase “think of me and I’ll be there” huh? HAHA.
Thanks for the present which I’ll find out tomorrow and for a great time back in Malaysia by the way. And no more surprises, don’t worry.
There are definitely more pictures but I don’t really feel like uploading all. Go to FB.

- This is the face of pure happiness. Haha!

- Presenting… Drinking Glasses! Mark’s Christmas present. Haha.

- Turned out pretty popular. Even Jayson wanted a go.

- Jayson’s Christmas present – Magic Snow. It’s this weird thing where you add water and it becomes like real snow. He didn’t like it very much, threw it away after playing once. -_-

You think you know what you want. But you don’t try anyway.
Cos it’s so much easier to lie to yourself and to your heart that it’s not for you than to admit the truth. I know because I do it too.
PASSION KL was awesome. I’m so glad I went. His grace is just mind boggling. I just cannot describe how I feel. Here’s a song that has always spoke to me and meant even more after last night.
Everyone needs compassion
A love that’s never failing
Let mercy fall on me
Everyone needs forgiveness
A kindness of a Savior
The hope of nations
Savior
He can move the mountains
My God is Mighty to save
He is Mighty to save
Forever
Author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave
So take me as You find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in
Now I surrender
Shine your light and let the whole world see
We’re singing for the glory of the risen King…Jesus
Mighty to Save – Hillsong
I want to be a “fruitcake”!

21/06/08 – Left for Penang!

Budget holiday for us. Took the Firefly there. Managed to get the zero price air tickets so we just paid for the airport tax. In case you didn’t know, Firefly is a propeller plane so it’s a very small plane but it wasn’t that bad. It was scary during the turbulence back home but I was half-asleep then so didn’t think it was such a bad experience after all. But I won’t recommend you flying with Firefly. Will let you know why later.
When we got there, checked into the apartment and left for town shortly after. We are such city kids, I tell you. The first thing when we got to the apartment was to look for the air-conditioning unit. “No air-cond?!?!? How to sleep???” LOL. But there was a unit in every room so yes we managed to sleep after all. First stop was at this local produce shop where we bought the local biscuits(which didn’t taste so good) and the guys bought some horrible tasting blueberry tea. Then we went to Gurney Plaza where we spent ages deciding what movie to watch. Decided on Made of Honour in the end. The funny thing was we all bought our tickets separately(due to our undecisiveness) but still managed to get seats in the same row. Lol. Nothing much to say about the show. It’s incredibly predictable and I thought it was more funny than it was romantic.
Didn’t do much that day. Walked over to Gurney Drive after the movie for dinner. Food there was bad. That place is a rip-off.

Next day we rented a van with a driver to take us around. Stopped by the botanical gardens to have a
look around. Then we went to Penang Hill(also known as Bukit Bendera) after lunch. We had to take the train up and it felt like forever to reach. Amazing view of Penang and nice breeze. Bought corn-in-cup, took photos, did henna tattoos, went on a canopy walk, saw some amazing houses up there. Took the taxi back to the apartment later. Walked out to look for dinner and have a look around at the night market. A lot of pirated DVDs,imitation handbags, sunglasses, perfumes on sale. Left my sunglasses at home so I bought a RM10 pair for spending the next day at the beach. Went to the beach in the middle of the night while it was raining. Lol. *Look at the prawns in the photo! Those cost like RM5 each! Lol!*
The next day the plan was to go to the beach but it rained in the morning! But by 12 the rain had slowed down to a drizzle so after lunch at the mamak, we went to the beach. Hung around getting wet, some went jet-skiing and all of us with the exception of Yeong Ren went on the banana boat. The weather was disappointing that day. Rain, shine, slight rain again and then it stopped and then it poured. By the time we went on the banana boat ride, the waves were extremely choppy and kind of dangerous. All of us were so drained after the ride. We walked back to the apartment in pouring rain. Tired and shivering but we still went for a swim. It’s a miracle none of us got sick. Lol. Got back to the apartment and showered. Rested then went to the night market again as they wanted to buy some MORE DVDS. *rolls eyes* Oh, we manage to catch some action! Saw the police catching one of the DVD sellers. Passed by some foreigners who thought those people were the Mafia. LMAO.

Woke up on the last day there to find that Kah Mun, Chun Chang and Yeong Ren’s clothes hanging on the balcony has been blown off. We could actually look down from our apartment and see the clothes strewn everywhere. Lol. Managed to get them back with the help of the staff. Packed then went to town to eat! Wanted to go to Kelawar Road cos apparently that was where all the good food is. But it’s
closed on Tuesdays.
But with the help of the locals we managed to find some really good laksa, kuay teow and yam cake. The “famous” cendol wasn’t anything special. Went to buy some local biscuits at another shop and dropped by the Chocolate Boutique. Surprisingly, I only bought one box of mango chocolates and coffee for my family. Maybe cos I was running out of cash by then. Haha. Went to the airport after only to find out that our flight has been delayed!!! From 4.30 it was pushed to 9. Now you know why I don’t encourage anyone flying with Firefly. We managed to get an earlier flight which was at 8. So we decided to drop by Queensbay Mall where we found the toilet bowl concept restaurant!

Had dinner there after a few rounds of games at the arcade(excluding me, I hate arcades) and then rushed to the airport. We reached there just in time. Five minutes later and we wouldn’t be allowed to check in. Lol.
*I’ve got a few things to say about the trip though. We spent the most money on transport! Renting the vans and taking the taxi was expensive! And the banana boat ride caused my arms and neck to hurt for TWO days. TWO WHOLE DAYS. Shows how fit I am huh? Hahaha. By the way, three days of hawker and mamak food for every meal can cause your stomach to be pretty upset. Lol. And the chocolates I bought didn’t taste as good as it did in the store.
Edit: Things have been sorted out. I’m gonna take the whole note down now.
P/s: Move your cursor over the photos to see my captions. Next post on high school reunion dinner last Saturday and the A-levels ball!
Photos from Kah Mun’s, MIchelle’s and my camera.
Just came home from my cousin’s “super sweet sixteen” birthday party. Lavish party – clubhouse poolside, tonnes of people, even more presents, a DJ and all the works. Yeah you get the picture. Makes me wonder how huge her 21st is going to be.
I didn’t know anyone at the party except for my relatives so I spent most of my time with my brother’s friends who were invited too. And I laughed so much until my jaw hurts. Seriously. I didn’t know I can have so much fun with a bunch of 17-year-old boys. Watching their antics in trying to chat girls up, listening to their lame jokes pick-up lines, seeing their frustration, nervousness when it comes to girls… It just took me to the time when I was 17 and with my guy friends. (You have no idea how I felt at the party, everyone besides the aunties and uncles were younger than me. Even the DJ classified the young people as “18 and below”)
Hey boys, all the best in getting those girls. Gotta say you people have a lot of guts. More than most of my own friends. Hmm, maybe it’s a generation thing. Haha. Thanks for the laughs!

And that includes sitting on railings in a dress. Haha. I’m gonna miss this and miss them.
Jayson gave me an Astro boy figurine he didn’t want anymore. -_- Lol. But i’ll be bringing it with me to UK for the memories
and Marky-boy says my present will be delayed. Hmph! Lol.
So yeah, my last birthday in Malaysia for a very long time and I had a GREAT one. Started my day well at 12 last night so I woke up this morning happy. Lol. Oh, it didn’t MAKE my day. Gotta rephrase it – it gave me a good start to my birthday! Thanks lots!
A big thank you also to my high school friends, for lunch and the surprise cake and the present. But most of all for the company.
Sorry I had to rush back though.
And yes, church people thanks for the cake!!! Thank you so so much for all the face-to-face wishes, hugs, the phone call(Chrissy! cos I thought someone forgotten all about me. Hehe.), the card all the way from Aust(Michy!), presents, SMS greetings, MSN ones and all the Facebook ones! Plenty of unexpected greetings and presents so yeah, was pleasantly surprised. (No, I’m not going to list everyone out cos I’ll definitely forget a name or two so yeah, you people know who you are.
)
Service was good as well. Pastor spoke on something I’ve always been afraid of so message today was extremely personal. And God gave me the best present of all. The gift of boldness and courage. I’m gonna hold on to it and accept that gift in faith!
When the oceans rise and thunders roar,
I will soar with You above the storm.
Father, You are King over the flood
I will be still and know You are God.
- Still, Hillsong United
But the biggest thank you goes out to God. For this life and for all these people I had the privilege of meeting. And thank you God for finding me. Your joy is beyond this world.
So yes, here comes the exams! Wheeeee…. Not. Haha. But I’ll be fine. Gonna get through this with God’s abundant favour!
So come what may!

If I was HIV+ , would you sit next to me on the bus?
If I was HIV+ , would you dare to touch me?
If I was HIV+ , would you take me by the hand and walk with me?
If I was HIV+ , would you give me a hug?
If I was HIV+ , would you love me?
If I was HIV+ , would you still want to marry me?
Think about it. Everyone deserves a chance at life and love. Don’t judge and discriminate. They are real people like you and me. Let’s learn to accept like how He first accepted us.
One life: YOU
To save one life: a child’s
From one disease: AIDS
In one continent: Asia
Around 2.1 million people died of AIDS in 2007
4.1 million people in Asia are infected with HIV
5 people die every minute
BUT NO STATISTIC CAN HELP YOU UNDERSTAND THE SUFFERING OF THOSE WHO ARE DYING OF AIDS AND THOSE WHO ARE LEFT BEHIND.
You have one life. Do something.

The One Life Revolution. First time in Malaysia. An life-size interactive experience that gives people a chance to see what is it like to cope with HIV/AIDS and child trafficking. Organised by World Vision Malaysia in collaboration with Malaysian Care and Malaysian AIDS Council.
I just got back from the training for the programme and I think this is waaaay cool. I’m so excited about helping out and actually going through the exhibit myself. Personally, I think this is one of the best programmes organised by World Vision. So if you’re free on those dates and times, do check it out and bring your friends too!
pssst, I’ll be at Monash on the 8th of March from 9am – 2pm. Come visit me!
